Plymouth has a highly integrated development and growth agenda, the overriding objective of the entire city.

There is an unabated cycle of high quality development in the city from the nationally recognised Royal William Yard, Millbay, Mount Wise, all exploiting the rich natural resources of Plymouth. The pace of development will continue uninterrupted through the creation of a new city growth fund ringfencing significant funding to allow major projects to proceed.

However ambitious development, regeneration plans and investment in themselves are only a part of the story.

Plymouth has a track record. It already leads the world in marine research and innovation, from cutting edge wave power to the longest continuous marine experiment in the world. We design and build some of the worlds most recognisable super yachts, while servicing some of the most advanced nuclear submarines.

As a city we have a firm hand on the innovation that resides in the city, wherever it is. Plymouth provides an infrastructure that nurtures and incubates innovation in the marine sector and other areas. Our University, ‘The Enterprise University’, provides a seamless link to our Science Park, the Tamar Science Park, which in turn links to the established business all over the region. 

Knowledge transfer is continuous and transparent in the city. Our aim is to extend the reach of that transfer into new markets and help complementary international businesses explore and seek opportunities in the city.

A new portal will soon be launched for both local as well as international businesses to explore opportunities to collaborate, invest, sell or just talk.
