Foremost amongst them for 2011 is the a stage in the series of 34th Series of The Americas Cup for two weeks in September. The Americas Cup is unquestionably the biggest event on water in the world. Throughout the year there are a series of events that bring the city to life. This year there is the Barbican Jazz and Blues Festival in late April, the Summer Festival, running from June to August containing major national events like the British Fireworks Championship, the Fastnet Race, Plymouth Race Week. In the Autumn the city plays host the most prominent arts exhibition in Europe, The British Art Show. Finally in winter we have the magical Winter Festival in the City Centre.
